The Teddi Dance for Love is a 24-hour dance marathon held each year in the Student Life Center. The dance was started in 1983 by Dr. Lou Buttino in an effort to raise money for Camp Good Days and Special Times. "Teddi" is the daughter of Gary Mervis, founder of Camp Good Days. The dance was named after her as she lost her battle with cancer at the age of 12 in 1982. The Dance has grown bigger and bigger each year with a combined total of over $500,000 donated to Camp Good Days. The money raised goes toward the Teddi project which sends a group of campers to Florida for one week in January.
The Teddi Committee is the group of students who plan and organize every in and out of the dance. The committee not only plans the dance but puts on many fun events year round!
